Meet Dr. Mohammed Ismail
Dr. Mohammed Ismail was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is now practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery in the New Orleans area. He maintains privileges at East Jefferson General Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Touro, and Crescent City Surgical Center and is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Training: Dr. Ismail received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He then went on to earn a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Louisiana Health Sciences Center in New Orleans where he was awarded the Dean’s Award. Dr. Ismail finished top five in his dental class and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon national honor society as well as the C. Edmund Kell’s honor society.
He then went on to continue training in New Orleans where he earned his doctorate of medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine and also completed his six year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Ismail’s clinical focus includes orthognathic surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant surgery, treatment of temporomandibular disorders, facial trauma surgery and treatment of benign pathology.
Dr. Ismail is a member of professional societies including the American Dental Association, American Medical Association, Louisiana Dental Association, New Orleans Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
In his spare time, Dr. Ismail enjoys traveling, camping and enjoying the culinary offerings of New Orleans. He also enjoys LSU sports, Saints football and Formula One racing.
